Ephesians

Chapter 1

1 Paul an Apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, to the Saints who are in Ephesus and to the faithful in Christ Jesus. 2 Grace be to you and peace from God our Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ.

3* Blessed be God, The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with many kinds of spiritual blessings, in the heavenly things in Christ: 4* He chose to set His people among righteousness before the foundation of the earth, that we should be holy and blameless before Him, 5* Having, out of love, chosen us as His adopted sons and daughters through Jesus Christ Himself, according to the desires of His heart, 6* To the praise and the glory of his graciousness, by which God has freely poured out upon us, through His beloved. 7* By union with Jesus, we hold redemption through his blood and, in accordance with the richness of God's grace, forgiveness of sins, 8 In these He abounds towards us in all wisdom and prudence 9 Having made known to us the mysteries of His will, according to His design, which He purposed in Himself, 10* So that during the dispensation of the set times, He might gather together, in Christ things in heaven and on earth, within Him: 11* in whom we have been assigned a purpose, being previously determined according to the designs of He who works all things according to the counsel of His will,12 So that we are purposed to the praise of His glory, we, who first trusted in Christ. 13 In whom you also placed your trust, after you heard the Word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, In who, after you placed your faith, you were sealed to The Holy Spirit with a promise. 14 Which is the truth of our inheritance, until the redemption of His purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

15 For this reason, I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and love for all His holy ones, 16 Do not cease giving thanks for you and making mention of you in my prayers. 17 So that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ “The Father of Glory” may give you the Holy Spirit of wisdom and revelation through His knowledge. 18 May the eyes of your heart be enlightened: so that you may know the hope of His calling and what the riches of His glorious inheritance are for the saints 19 And the exceeding greatness of His power within us who believe corresponds with the sovereignty of His mighty power, 20 Which He exercised through Christ when He raised Him from the dead and set Him at His right hand in heavenly places. 21 High above all governments and rulers and might, dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in the ages to come. 22 And has put all things under His feet and assigned Him as the head, above every part of the faith, 23 Which is His body, the fullness of He who fills all in all.

Chapter 2

1 As for you, He has rejuvenated you who were dead in your trespasses and sins, 2 Where in times past you walked according to the ways of this world, according to rulers of their kingdoms with power over the air! the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience, 3 Among who we also, in times past, lived in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind and thus were by nature, children of wrath, the same as everyone else, 4 But, God who is rich in mercy, because of His great love, loved us 5* Even while we were dead in trespasses, He brought us to life in Christ, by His favor you belong to salvation. 6 And He has raised us up to sit in heavenly places, together in Christ Jesus: 7 In order to demonstrate throughout the ages to come, the abundant riches of His grace and kindness towards us through Christ Jesus. 8* By grace you can be saved: For faith is the road to salvation, which is not a result of mankind, but a gift from God: 9* It is not the product of mankind, so no one can boast. 10* After all, we are Gods workmanship, created together in Christ Jesus, practicing the good ways which God ordained beforehand so that we would live by them.

11 Therefore, remember that in times passed, you were once Gentiles in the flesh, who are called "The Uncircumcised” by those called circumcised in the flesh, made merely by human hands, 12 At that time you were outside Christ, being foreigners, belonging to the common citizenhood and strangers to the Covenant of Promise, without hope and godless in the world. 13 But, now in Christ Jesus, you who were once distant, have been made near, by the blood of Christ Himself. 14 For He is our peace, who has joined both sides together, breaking down the dividing wall of separation between Jews and Gentiles; 15 Having ended, through his flesh, the hostility contained within the Laws of the Commandments and its ordinances in order to create, in Himself from two, one new body, thus establishing peace. 16 And reuniting both in the body of God, through the Cross, putting to death all discord within Himself.17 Having come to preach the gospel of peace to those distant and peace to those near 18 For by Him we all have access to The Holy Spirit and to the Father.

19 Therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with His holy ones and the household of God. 20 Having been built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, with Jesus Christ Himself being the Keystone, 21 In whom the entire building is fitly sealed together, growing into a holy Temple for the Lord: 22 In who, together, we are also being built into a dwelling place for God by His Spirit.

Chapter 3

1 For this purpose I Paul, prisoner of God in Christ Jesus write on behalf of the Gentiles, 2 If you have heard of the stewardship of grace, God has given to me for you, 3 Which according to the revelation He has made known to me, the mystery (which previously I wrote about briefly. 4 By which, when you read this, you might understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ.) 5 Which in ages past had not been made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to His holy Apostles and Prophets by the Holy Spirit, 6 So that the gentiles would be fellow heirs, part of the same body and participants in the promise of Christ, through the Gospel: 7 By whom I was made a Minister, according to the gift given to me out of the grace of God, according to the working of His power. 8 To me, I, who am by far the least of all the saints, this blessing was given so that, I would bring the word of God to the gentiles, regarding the unfathomable abundance in Christ, 9 And bring to light, things regarding the fellowship of the mystery, which was hidden since the dawn of time by God, who created all things 10* To make known the Presence and the sovereignty of Heaven on behalf of the congregation through the manifold wisdom of God 11* According to the eternal purpose of the ages which He ordained for Christ Jesus the Lord of lords 12* In whom, we have boldness and access in confidence, through our faith in God 13* Therefore, I desire that you do not lose heart during my suffering for you, which is for God’s glory.

14 For this purpose, I bow, kneeling to the Father, 15 Of, the whole family in heaven and on earth, named by His named. 16 So that He might, according to the riches of His heavenly glory, grant you angelic radiance and strengthen you through The Holy Spirit inwardly, into a person 17* Dwelling within Christ in faith and in the heart, letting love take root and lay its foundation 18 So that, soon, upon Christ's return we may succeed in understanding together, many of these holy things, what is the width and length and depth and height: of Christ's love 19 And know, the love that surpasses knowledge, so that you might be filled to all fullness by God.

20 Now, to He who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond everything and exceed anything we ask or imagine, according to His miraculous power working within us 21 To Him, be the glory of the congregation of Christ Jesus, throughout all ages and the world, without end. Amen.

Chapter 4

1 Therefore, I, prisoner of God in Christ Jesus, I pray that you, conduct your life in a worthy manner, living up to the divine calling by which you were to called by God 2 With all humility and meekness, with longsuffering, being patient with one another in love. 3 Working hard to keep the oneness with the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Holy Spirit, just as you are called to the one hope of your divine calling. 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and is in all.

7 And to each of us was given a blessing according to what is assigned by Christ's gifting.

8 For this reason He said: Having ascended on high, He led captives out of captivity and gave gifts to mankind.

9 Now, "He ascended" what does it mean? but that He also descended first into the lower provinces of the earth 10 He who descended, is the same who ascended far above the heavens, so that He might fulfill all things. 11 And He assigned some of the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers, 12 The purpose of the perfecting of the saints, the works of the ministry and the edification of the body of Christ: 13 Until we all join in the unity of the faith and the acknowledgment of the Son of God, into the wedding ceremony to the standard of maturity which is fulfilled within Christ; 14 So that, we are no longer infants, being tossed to and fro and carried around by every air of teaching, nor by the deceptions of mans trickery and scheming, of those who are delusional 15 But instead, speaking the Truth in love and by maturing unto Him all things, God, I Am that I Am, the Head, "The Christ" 16 In whom, the whole body is firmly sealed together and taught by every joints provision according to its functionality, measured by each parts increase that the body has brought forth towards edifying Himself in love.

17 Therefore, this I say and testify in the Lord, that no longer are you to conduct yourselves according to the manner in which the gentiles live with vanity in their minds 18 Who have their understanding darkened, being foreigners from the life of God, through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness in their hearts: 19 Who, being past the point of feeling, have delivered themselves over to immortality, to practice unrighteousness in every form of their covetousness. 20 But, this is not the way you learned in Christ. 21 if you have understood Him and are among His disciples in the Truth, who are sealed for Jesus 22 You must lay down the former way of life, the old man who is corrupt according to his deceitful desires 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind: 24 Becoming the new man, His temple which in accordance with God has been created in righteousness and justice within the Truth

25 Therefore, put away all falsehoods and let every man speak the truth to his neighbor: for we are all members of one another. 26 Be angry and don't sin, don't let the sun go down while you are provoked 27 Never, give place to the devil. 28 Let those who stole, steal no more, but instead let them labor diligently, working with their hands the good things, so they will have enough to give to the needy. 29 Let no corrupt words proceed out of your mouth, but only what is necessary for building others up, for their good, benefitting all who hear 30 And do not grieve The Holy Spirit of God, by who you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all and every bitterness, unrighteousness, anger, discordance and blasphemy, working with God to remove all evil 32 But prove yourselves together, His anointed ones, merciful and forgiving towards one another just as God is in Christ, also forgiving towards you

Chapter 5

1 Therefore, Be imitators of God, as His beloved children. 2 And live in the way of love, just as Jesus Christ also loves you and delivered His life, on behalf of us as a sacrifice and offering to God into Gods certainty of good, for the sake of the creator.

3 But sexual immorality, covetousness and all impurity, let them not be found among you, as we become His Holy ones: 4 And indecency, careless speech, nor coarse jokes, are not suitable for our duty but rather thanksgiving 5 For this you should know, that no whoremonger, no impure person, nor covetous person, which is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

6 Let no one deceive you with skillful words because upon these things comes the wrath of God opposing the sons of the devil 7 Therefore, have nothing to do with them.

8 Therefore, once darkness, now a light among Zion as children of light walking in it 9 For the fruit of the light is found in all goodness, righteousness and truth. 10 Proving what the Lord finds acceptable: 11 Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, instead, rebuke them. 12 The secrets born of them are shameful even to name 13 but all things reprimanded are brought into light, for everything that manifests light is light.

14 Therefore, he said: awake you sleeper and arise from the dead and Christ will give you light.

15 Therefore, be sure that you walk in self discipline, not as fools, but as the wise, 16* Using your time well, because the days are troublesome. 17 Do not become the Unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is 18 And do not become drunk by wine, for that is excess, instead, be filled with the Spirit: 19 Speaking among yourselves, in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord, 20 Giving thanks, at all times for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and to God our Father 21 Being helpful to one another out of reverence for Christ.

22* Let wives hold reverence for their own husbands, as with the Lord 23 For the husband is the leader of the wife, like Christ is the head of the congregation, He is "The Messiah" of the body 24* Thus, like the congregation is subject to Christ, also the wives to their own husbands within Him, in all.

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loves the congregation and delivered His life for it: 26 So that He might sanctify it and cleanse it by washing them in the water of the Word, 27 So that, He might present us to Himself as a glorious Church, not having blemish or wrinkle or anything similar: But, they should be holy and blameless. 28 Thus, men should love their wives, like their own bodies: For he who loves his wife, also loves himself. 29 For no person hates their own flesh, but instead, they nurture and cherish it, just as the Lord with the Church: 30 For we are members of His body, His flesh and His bones. 31 For this purpose a man may leave his father and mother and will be joined to his wife and the two will be one flesh. 32 This is the profound mystery of which, I speak, concerning Christ and the Church. 33 Nevertheless, let everyone of us, love his wife as himself and the wife be sure to hold her husband in reverence.

Chapter 6

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is righteousness. 2* Honor your father and your mother, which is one of the first commandments given, with a promise 3 "So that it will go well with you and that your days may be prolonged in the land."

4 And fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but raise them up by encouraging the children and instructing them in the Lord.

5 Servants obey, every day, your fellow countrymen who are your masters with reverence, having no distress in mind and in singleness of heart, like you would unto Christ 6* Not in external service only, to please mankind but in accordance with our bonded servitude to Christ for as long as you practice what is desirable in Gods sight, from the interior, outward, your soul is sealed to Him 7 With goodwill render services, as you would to the Lord and not for man. 8* Knowing that every good thing a person does, is brought before the Lord whether from bondservant or one who is free.

9* Those who are Masters do the same things in accordance, without threatening, knowing the fact that the Lord of both you and them is in Heaven and no prejudice exists within Himself.

10 Finally, my brothers, be strengthened in the Lord and by the power of His sovereignty. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, so that you are able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For the battle is not against the blood and the body of Christ but rather, against the principalities, against the powers, against the rulers of this world, the leaders of the darkness and against all suffocating evils within unearthly realms 13 For this purpose, take upon yourselves the full armor of God, so that you will be able to oppose the day of the evil, every man already having done everything to stand 14 Then Stand! wearing the Belt of Truth and the Breastplate of Righteousness, 15 With your feet strapped firmly in preparedness with the Gospel of Peace. 16 And above all, taking the Shield of Faith, for with it you will be able to extinguish all the fiery darts of the evil one. 17 Take up the Helmet of Salvation and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 Because of this, speak every prayer in humility, offering prayer in all seasons, in the Holy Spirit and in self preparation in every perseverance and patience, as well as, for the Saints 19 And on my behalf, that I am given divine revelation in the opening of my mouth in boldness to make know the mystery of the gospel 20 On whose behalf I am an ambassador in chains, so that in them, I spoke out boldly as soon as necessary, I spoke.

21 So that you may know my endeavors and how I am doing in all things, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in Christ, shall inform you about all these things. 22 Whom I have sent to you for this purpose, so that you might know our affairs and that he may comfort your hearts.

23 Peace be to our brothers and love, with faith from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Written from Rome to the Ephesians delivered by Tychicus.
