2 John
2 John
Chapter 1
1 The elder unto the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in truth; and not only myself, but all those who know the Truth,1
2 because of the truth which dwells within us and among us and will be with us forever:
3 May grace mercy, and peace be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ the Son of the Father in the truth and love.
4 I greatly rejoiced seeing that I had found some of your children living in the truth, in the same manner as we received commandment from the Father.
5 Therefore I now implore you, lady, not as though I were writing a new commandment unto you, but that you keep the commandments which we have received from He who is from the beginning, that we should love one another.2
6 And this is love, that we should live according to His commandments, so that in the same manner as His commandments, as you have heard from the beginning you might live by them.2
7 Because many deceivers have come into the world, those who do not acknowledge that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. Such as these are of the deceiver and an antichrist.1
8 Guard yourselves, so that you shall not lose what you have worked for, so that afterward you might receive your full reward.1
9 All those who go out but do not live and remain within the teaching of the Christ, do not have God; those who abide within the teachings of Christ, such as these have both the Father and the Son.
10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring these teachings with them, do not receive them into your house, and do not enjoy speaking to them.
11 For whoever enjoys speaking to them takes part in their wicked works.
12 I have many things to explain to you, am unwilling by paper and ink; instead I hope to come unto you and instead hoping to come unto you and speak face to face, so that our joy would made full.
13 The children of your chosen sister, send their greetings to you.
